Rules and Regulations
The following Rules and Regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members. The rules have been established to assure safe and sanitary operation of the pool and tennis facilities. Each member is responsible for reading and understanding the rules, and making sure their children and guests understand them. Questions regarding rules interpretation and their enforcement should be directed, in writing, to the Board of Directors. Your suggestions and recommendations are encouraged and welcomed. Please avoid confrontations with responsible officers and employees in their enforcement of these rules.
The Club assumes no responsibility, and members or their guests shall have no claims against the Club, for any accident or injury to any person or their property. All persons using the Club’s facilities do so at their own risk.
The Pool Manager or a lifeguard in charge of the pool may close the pool facilities at any time when, in his judgment, conditions may jeopardize the safety of those using the facilities.
NOTE: ONLY members who have paid their dues in full and remain in good standing shall be permitted to use the Club’s facilities.
POOL GUESTS
No resident of Lockridge Forest who is not a member of the Lockridge Forest Swim & Tennis Club, Inc., may be the guest of a member or use any Club facility.
Parents, children and grandchildren of members will be permitted to use the facilities at any time (unless child or parent resides in a separate home within the Lockridge Forest Neighborhood and has not joined the CLUB).
Guests must be accompanied by a member, must register with the lifeguard on duty, and pay the appropriate guest fees as determined by the current Board of Directors. There are two (2) exceptions:
The “guest” has been employed by a Member to supervise their child/dependant, that caregiver may use the CLUB without having to pay a guest fee only while supervising the Member’s child/dependent and only after the CLUB has received the required written permission and a special membership card has been issued.
If the pool facility is rented by a Member for a Private Party (10+ guests), all party guests are allowed to use the pool facility without having to pay a guest fee. Private Party fees/deposits will be determined by the current Board of Directors.
No guest shall attend more than once per week. A guest is defined as all non dues paying persons. Members are allowed one guest per week included as part of their membership fee. Any additional guests will be required to pay a guest fee as determined by the current Board of Directors. When bringing 10 or more guests to the pool prior approval must be received to ensure that adequate guards are on duty. If prior approval has not been received the lifeguard on duty has the ability to turn away guests. Residents of Lockridge Forest who are not members of the pool are not permitted as “guests”.
Pool hours for children under 17 years of age will be 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM unless otherwise posted by the Board of Directors.
Pool hours for adult members 17 years and over shall be 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM unless otherwise posted by the Board of Directors. No lifeguards will be on duty after 8:00 PM.
Special events planned by the Social Committee may temporarily change existing schedules, but such activities will be posted at least one week in advance.
All children through the age of twelve must be accompanied by an adult after 7 PM.
Swim at your own risk hours may be available as permitted by the current Board of Directors. The following rules will be enforced:
No solo swimming will be permitted. All persons swimming must be accompanied by minimum of one other person 18 and older, when using the main pool.
All minor children must be accompanied by an adult member at all times of use.
The member will not permit any other persons to enter the pool area during the time for which no lifeguard is present and will keep the entrance locked at all times.
Non-swimmers in the pool must be accompanied by a competent swimmer or adult.
RULES OF CONDUCT
Swimming when lifeguard is not on duty is forbidden for all persons except during designated adult swim or as posted by the Board of Directors as “Swim at Your Own Risk” Hours.
Cigarettes, cigars, and tobacco shall not be discarded on the pool deck. Members are responsible to clean up all litter and trash they bring into the pool area.
Food is allowed on pool deck only if all trash is promptly discarded. We encourage use of the grassed or picnic areas for consumption of food and beverages. Breakable containers allowed in the grassed and picnic areas only. No glass containers allowed in pool deck.
No pets allowed within the fenced pool area or inside the tennis courts. Unleashed dogs will be allowed on Club property only with consent of all members in attendance and with attentive owners. If members present are uncomfortable with the dog being un-leased a leash must be used. All persons with dogs on club property are responsible for cleaning up after them. A fine of $75 will be assessed if members do not “scoop”. Please use extra caution when large groups or children are present. Many small children are frightened of dogs of all sizes, not just large ones.
A member who damages or defaces Club property will be responsible for the repair or replacement of same. In the case of children, parents will be responsible for all costs.
Members and guests will drive slowly and carefully in and around Club property.
Chairs not allowed on pool coping. Furniture must not be dragged across pool deck.
WALK -- No running in pool area.
No pushing or "horseplay" will be permitted in or around pool. No swimming in the diving area.
Only one person allowed on the diving board at a time. Divers must dive straight off the end of the board, not to the side.
All children through the age of 17 will be required to rest out of the pool for 10 minutes out of each hour, or as required by the lifeguard on duty.
Water wings, snorkel tubes, face masks, and soft plastic balls under 12" in diameter are permitted. Air mattresses or other items must meet the approval of the lifeguard on duty.
For disciplinary purposes, the Pool Manager or lifeguard on duty may restrict the use of the pool for the entire day for violations of any of the stated rules.
The lifeguard can determine any act or actions which he considers unsafe and not covered by these rules.
Children age three (3) years or under are not allowed in the pool unless accompanied by an adult or competent swimmer.
All children under eight (8) years of age must be accompanied by an adult when on the Club’s facilities (pool or tennis courts).
Unescorted children 8 years of age or older using the pool may be required to pass a swimming test at the discretion of the Pool Manager or lifeguard on duty.
All bathers must take a shower before entering the pool.
Parents are cautioned to have children use the toilet before taking a shower and entering the pool.
Persons having a skin disease or inflamed eyes, cold, nasal, or ear discharge will be excluded from using the pool.
Persons having open blisters, cuts, or skin abrasions are warned that these might become infected and are advised not to use the pool.
Spitting, spouting of water, blowing the nose in the pool is strictly forbidden.
No hair pins, bobby pins, or curlers may be worn at anytime in the pool.
All babies in diapers must wear swim diapers.
All bathers must wear generally accepted swimming attire.
WADING POOL
No head-first diving into the wading pool.
All main pool rules which are applicable to the wading pool will govern its use as well.
No child shall be left unattended inside the wading pool area.
Profane or abusive language, gross behavior, drug use, or unsafe conduct which in the opinion of the Pool Manager or lifeguard on duty is unacceptable or unsafe may result in the temporary or permanent suspension of that member or child.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages on Club property is a matter of personal preference. A person showing signs of intoxication may be asked to leave the Club facilities and is subject to suspension and/or expulsion. No person aged 21 or younger shall be allowed to bring or consume any alcoholic beverage on any part of the CLUB’S premises. Any person under age 21 discovered using alcoholic beverages or anyone using drugs shall be subject to a fine or to immediate suspension and/or expulsion.
Articles made of glass and metal, excluding eyeglasses, swim goggles, or diving masks are not allowed into the pool area.
All trash, including cigarettes, is to be put into its proper disposal container at all times.
Only licensed vehicles, including motorcycles and minibikes, operated by licensed drivers are allowed to park in authorized Club parking area. All vehicles are excluded from other Club areas. MAXIMUM VEHICLE SPEED ON THE CLUB FACILITIES IS 10 MPH.
All vehicles including bikes must be ridden only on roadways, never on Club grounds or grass. Bikes, when parked, must be in bike rack or designated bike parking area directly behind guard building.
Any property on the Club broken or damaged by a member or his guest shall be promptly paid for by such member. No person shall take any article belonging to the Club away from the Club premises.
No loitering on Club property. Any member caught on the premises after closing hours shall be subject to immediate suspension and/or expulsion.
Any member may, for cause and after having been given an opportunity for hearing, be suspended for a period not to exceed three months by a two-thirds vote of the members of the Board of Directors present at any meeting of the Board, or expelled by a three-fourths vote of the entire membership of the Board. Cause of suspension or expulsion shall, in general, consist of a substantive violation of these rules, or of the By-Laws of the Club, or of gross conduct unbecoming a lady or gentleman or of unsafe behavior that threatens the safety of another member.
The Board of Directors shall issue such further rules and regulations as may be required in the interest of the Club.
Persons may be removed from the pool or tennis court areas for misconduct at the lifeguard’s or Pool Manager’s discretion by virtue of the authority given by the Board of Directors in these Rules and Regulations.
The pool may be used after 8:00 PM by private groups subject to the following rules. This privilege is the policy of the Board of Directors, but may be extended by subsequent Boards.
Must be an organized group, i.e. sports team, Sunday School class, etc.
Must be approved by the Board three (3) weeks prior to the requested date.
Lifeguards must be acquired and paid for by the group.
Must be closed by midnight.
At least one member of the group must be a pool member.
Residents of Lockridge Forest who are not members of the pool are not permitted.
All Club laws and rules of the pool are to be enforced.
Private Party rules below will also be required.
Private Parties –There will be a reservation fee/deposit required. The current Board of Directors will establish this fee/deposit. Reservations of the Taj Mahal or the Pavilion Area are first come first served. If a deposit is not received there is no guarantee that the area will be available for your party. KEYS will only be issued if your reservation fee/deposit has been received 48 hours in advance of your party. For your deposit portion to be returned the area must be cleaned up, trash removed, and furniture/tables/chairs are returned to the original position. If keys were issued they will need to be returned as well. If the club keys are lost there will be a $50 lost key charge.
"It is the policy of the Board of Directors to provide maximum usage of the courts in the fairest manner so that all Members and their families have an equal opportunity to play tennis. “
However, because of the limited number of courts, the Board has established a list of priorities of usage by members of the tennis facilities. It is obvious that the Club cannot and will not attempt to establish a rule to govern every possible situation. Therefore, each member desiring to use the courts must exercise common courtesy and understanding that the tennis courts are for the use of all members:
Only Active Members and their immediate families are allowed to play except for the following guest limitations:
A member family and their guests may not occupy more than one court. Guests are defined as non-dues paying persons.
Non-member residents of Lockridge Forest cannot play as guests.
No guests except house guests, are allowed on holidays, or holiday weekends. Holiday weekends are as follows: New Years, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Each member may be allowed to bring a guest to the courts a maximum of once per week, except house guests.
Guests must be accompanied by a member when using the tennis courts.
Adults have priority on all courts Monday - Thursday after 5:00 PM, after 5:00 PM Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday; and at all times on holidays. Sixteen (16) years and older is considered to be an adult for tennis court rules only. (Holidays are defined in Tennis Rule 1-c). Adult members may reserve courts to play with any junior member during the priority time. Junior members may use but not reserve the courts during priority time.
ALL PLAYERS must sign reservation sheet before play commences. No player may reserve more than one (1) day in advance. SINGLES ARE LIMITED TO ONE (1) HOUR. DOUBLES ARE LIMITED TO ONE AND ONE-HALF (1 1/2) HOURS. Play is limited to type of play signed for when someone is waiting. When no one is waiting, play may continue over the signed limit, but players may not re-sign on that court or any other court without coming off the court to allow others to play. Any player not signed on at the beginning of his or her play must give up that court immediately.
Practicing alone on a court when members are waiting to play is not allowed. Ball machines and/or other practice equipment may only be used when there are not players on the adjacent court.
There will be no reserving of courts other than as provided in Par. 3 unless approved by the Tennis Chairman. All members must reserve courts before play. Court time can not be reserved for individual practice.
Reservations not kept within ten (10) minutes are forfeited.
No bicycles, wagons, roller skates, toys, chairs, or pets of any kind are allowed on the courts.
Players only are allowed on courts. If you are waiting or watching, please remain outside the fence. Watchers, please keep your voices down.
Players must wear proper tennis attire, including shirts. Regulation tennis shoes only are allowed on the courts, basketball, jogging, or rough tread shoes are expressly disallowed.
Please keep courts clean. Please sweep off the courts before play commences, if necessary. NO SMOKING IS PERMITTED ON THE COURTS.
Activities authorized by the Board of Directors have priority over individual play on courts designated. Notice of all authorized activities will be posted on the bulletin board at least one (1) week in advance.
No tennis lessons after the hours of 5 PM, Monday through Fridays, all weekends or holidays, except as authorized by the Board of Directors. (Holidays defined in Rule 1-c). Private lessons shall be designated as such on the reservation sheet.
The courts will be open from 8 AM to 11 PM during the summer while the Club is officially open. The courts will remain locked at all times except when in use. Keys are issued to each new member. Additional/Replacement keys are available to members at a cost of $5.00 per key.
Proper tennis etiquette shall be observed at all times.
No glass containers will be permitted on the tennis courts. Each member is responsible for placing all trash in the containers provided, turning out court lights, and locking tennis court gates.
Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Reservations are to be made online.
If an individual or group changes their reservation to an earlier time because of a vacant court, said individual or group must remove their names for the original time scheduled.
No member may play past their scheduled time, except for ALTA matches or to complete a match which will not take more than 5 minutes.
Good sportsmanship dictates that reservations must be kept. Cancellations should be made as soon as possible. Continual violations of missed reservations may result in a temporary suspension of tennis privileges.
